Micrometrics levels

(Patented)

Grooved base, hardened, grinded and honed steel. Well adapted for flat and cylindrical surfaces. Base surface precision and squareness: 0.002 mm for a 200 mm length.
Vertical scale: ± 10 mm/m course. Graduated knob Ø 37 mm.

Main vial: 1 division = 0.02 mm/m = 4'' = 0.0002 inch/10 inch.

The bubble and both graduation scales belong to the same visual span. The vial is mounted according to the same design used in levels 61 et 67 which prevents any constraint. This assembly preserves sensitivity at all temperatures (provided thermal equilibrium is reached). No sealing being used, the vial may easily be replaced.
The vial is protected by a glass window and an insulating plastic plate.
Slop- and hysteresis-free joint, stable over time.

64 : high precision level 1/100^e mm/m

Graduated knob: 1 division = 0.01 mm per meter, that is 0.002 mm or 2 arcseconds for the overall length of the level (200 mm).

65 : linear level

Graduated knob: 1 division = 0.05 mm/m = 10 arcseconds = 0.0005 inch/10 inch
Main vial available on request: 1 division = 0.01 mm/m = 2 arcseconds = 0.0002 inch/10 inch

68 : frame level

Graduated knob: 1 division = 0.05 mm/m = 10 arcseconds = 0.0005 inch/10 inch
Main vial available on request: 1 division = 0.01 mm/m = 2 arcseconds = 0.0002 inch/10 inch

Vertical magnetic base available on request.

Specific micrometric levels

All these levels are supplied in a varnished wooden case.

Applications:

Slope monitoring up to 10 mm/m above and below the horizontal plane.
Control of flatness deviation, parallelism, taper, twisting, height differential. Installing of mechanical mounts and machining assembly. Measurement of structural flexure in buildings, bridges, dams, ...

Operation:

Turn the graduated knob and bring the bubble to a position center between both large marks. If the pointer index of the [mm/m] scale is located in the black graduation area, read black numbers on the graduated flange. In the case of reverse slopes, read the red figures.

Tuning:

The level is tuned so that resting on a horizonal plane and the bubble being at a center position betweeen both large marks, both index pointers (of the [mm/m] scale and of the knob flange) face the 0 graduation mark.
In case of misadjustment, resetting the 0 position can be performed by rotating the knob flange, which is secured on the micrometric screw by a stop screw.

Accuracy:

For the measurement of small slope deviations (verification of rulers, surface plates, machine tools), this level's precision is on the order of 0.001 mm per meter.
The bubble is always brought back to the same center position, therefore the reading precision is not modified by the bubble length variations.
